XING is growing - but only slowly

Are you registered at XING? Congratulations, you are not alone with. As a whole, the business network can overlook now 11,12 million members namely. This sounds great, but you should lose one eye: growth is progressing further rather slow. This is provided in the quarterly report presented on Wednesday.

Between late March and late June, XING was able to increase the number of members to 310,000 is just. The growth in the paid premium accounts was still manageable. 759.000 Paying customers at the end of the first quarter were under contract, there were three months later only 10,000 more. I ask myself: it is for display only asked optimism if XING CEO Stefan gross-Selbeck quote in a company release with the following words:

"The emphasis in XING further growth." "As potential in our home market is not long since exhausted."

I would not find the fly in the ointment, but when I repeatedly hear the rumor in private hands in particular in the Web 2.0 scene "long's makes XING eh no longer," I should be surprised me but a bit whether the different points of view. To the just clarify: I am not one of the representatives who certify no future XING. I would me now does not stand up and say that I would regret it if there were no longer XING, for this I use the page is too little. And spend money for a premium account? Certainly not.

It involves at least 5.55 euros, I would have to spend each month on a paid LinkedIn account I did not even that. Rather, I look with interest to the now quite diverse, growing steadily (faster) and free alternatives, which offers me the World Wide Web. For example Facebook, I have sought long, to be on the way there with a pure private account. A certain amount of time is me with the necessary discipline also quite successful, but in the meantime, my local circle of friends is a colorful mix of close friends, nice friends and various professional contacts. Also, because nice Facebook groups were founded to various events, which allowed for an exchange between the participants in loose flaked, virtual round.

Still a bit extreme, it looks on Google
